Thinking about lowering my car....

06 GXP owner and i'm really juggling the idea of lowering my car. It has 127,xxx and needs new shocks and struts anyway. I don't want to go to low maybe an inch to inch and a half. Know the car stock has blistein but I was wondering what other shock/strut combos are equal to them and not as expensive. Also some quality springs if anyone knows of any.

the bilsteins are what you'd want to keep if you really do want to lower it. they'll perform better than another other replacement available for you.

"good" lowering springs: SSC, B&G, eibach. they'll all probably lower you 2-2.5", though. the only other spring to buy if you don't want to go too low is vogtland, which is what the GMPP suspensions used. those will lower about 1-1.5".

Thanks for the info. I guess my next question would be what is a good ride height? My goal is to get rid of the wheel gap but look flush with 20s. I live in michigan so I don't want to get stuck. I had a srt4 neon that would get stuck all the time.

you're going to have a hard time getting stuck in a GP. mine went through a foot and a half of snow lowered on eibachs like it was its job.
