thinking about a northstar TB

Wondering if a northstar would be worth it on my setup. I already ported my throttle body but obviously I'm restricted by diameter. I already ported my blower and I'm running a 3.2 pulley.

I seem to see that back on the forums some time ago..I could be referring to something different don't recall for certain though its been awhile. That's why I figured the more season vets like Blue,Bio,Bill and Matt would chime in later and correct me if in wrong :)

if your are going GenV, yes do a N*, not sure if you would notice any gains other than throttle response on a genIII...but thats still a gain

You don't need a N* on a genV because of flow you need it because a l67 TB won't fit as far as flow is concerned even turbo guys use a ported l67 TB so to answer the OP original question no you don't need a N* TB and you probably won't see any gains just a different throttle feel

excellent, thanks for the response. Do you know this from personal experience?

I've never researched the flow numbers between the two. That would be my suggestion and try to get an idea of how much you are flowing.

As for the throttle response, it's there. N* has the tip in made for it. You start off and cruise nicely, go about 30% and you see the thing nearly wide open.

Would my maf lbs/min at redline give you an idea of what I'm flowing?

I noticed the throttle response on my friend's regal was as you describe, I thought it was from him playing with his BBV or just maybe because he has a full build. I'm not too worried about throttle response, I'd rather see WOT power gains. I figured since I'm running a 4" intake, 85mm maf and ported SC the stock TB would be the bottle neck but then again maybe not.

I would want to see them both put on a flow bench. Since yours is ported..it'll have some gain over stock. Maybe check ZZP's tech area, they do have a ton of interesting things they've done.
