Things automakers need to stop doing...

Things automakers really need to stop doing:
-LOTS OF ****ING CHROME (Nissan Titan and all the pickups, but Titan went overboard big time)

-Push buttons for gear selection (Lincoln MKC, this design was so bad, they actually did a recall on it because the design was so bad)

-Piano black interior pieces; Guess what happens when kids touch it

-Really awkward window shapes, (Infiniti) actually the only reason why they do it is because the government gives them the frame now (figure of speech), they only get to change the headlights, taillights and windows.

-Choosing form over function (Lincoln is doing this big time lately)

-Four door coupes, because chopping off whores heads to fit in the back is cool for some reason (and this goes for BMW, 3 series is strictly 4 doors and the 4 series is strictly 2 door...but we are going to make a 4 door coupe 4 series anyways and we will do the same with our 5 series and 6 series because **** YOU)

-These really ****ty AWD cars/crossovers, just go watch some of the tests they do on Youtube of AWD systems, you find out we really are just driving around in FWD 4000lbs bloated and lifted cars.

-Buick trying to be relevant again

-Safety equipment, please just stop (government)...just stop, these cars are so heavy now as it is...just stop. A Ford Exploder tops out at $50k now, who wants a $50k Ford Exploder. I can't afford this ****.

-Infotainment systems because driving shouldn't matter anymore.

-Domestics that cost more than the Germans now, I guess we asked for that one.

Using plastic for engine parts (coolant elbows in 3800 3400 motors)

Twitter Facebook and other social media sites access through the center consel cause there's not enough teenybopper accidents already driving mommy an daddys car

I hate the 6 Series Gran Coupe. Awful. Never mind the rear headroom issue, what's the point if little 140lb 5 foot 9 me can't fit comfortably in the back with the front seat set normally.

As a part time valet. I hate anything that doesn't have a shifter. Like Benz funky column shifter thing. The dodge, Chrysler jeep, turning knob thing and definitely the button application you talked about with the Lincolns.

Push button starts are gay, anything Chrysler you cant shut the car off in Neutral anymore. Which sucks ass if you have to work on the front end and turn the wheels, the steering wheel locks in place............................

Stop putting HUGE and MAJOR electronic boxes/equipment DIRECTLY UNDER THE OIL FILTER. Sooner than later that oil is going to work it's way inside screw the whole thing up.

I agree on the chrome and AWD stuff. 90% of the time it's a FWD unit and even when it goes into AWD it blows so much dick because the overactive traction control kicks in and says **** you.

5 Door hatches. Bring back the 3 door. This goes back to the weight thing all those extra doors with all the extra hardware in them adds quite a bit of weight.

how about have 598232384 options... having things "optional" makes the prices higher across the board due to increased manufacturing time

If the general population didn't need to have all these gadgets and extra electronic crap in order to properly drive a vehicle it would certainly make for a better vehicle IMHO, but apparently I need all of my sh*t to sync up whenever I step into a car.

I guess being able to control the lighting in my house, the thermostat, sprinkler system, having the car check my distance so I don't plow through the garage wall when pulling in, reminding me that I'm late for dinner (no fvck, why do you think I'm pulling into the driveway at 90mph, duh..) and feeding the dog would be cool, but in reality I don't care.

Unfortunately some of us are in the small group of people that actually check our own blind spots before changing lanes, don't talk or text on the phone while driving, can parallel park, and know how far to pull into a garage no matter how much crap your 6 year old left in front. I just want a car that is comfortable, decent on mileage and has some power when needed. All I see this techie crap for is a distraction from the driving experience and another way for people to track where I am and what I'm doing. I drive to get away from things for a bit not be constantly harassed AND try to drive and avoid all the other non-drivers on the road. Driving is hard enough, why clusterf*ck it with other junk??

hmm let see.

auto fob detect, fob dead car no start-thanks nissan you made my day so much better in the -30windchill weather.

push button start, anything other then a stalk/console shift.

windows that need to roll down 1/4in to open then roll back up when you close the door.

over complicated computer systems that have 15 differnt boxs in the quarter panel with 2in thick wire looms.

side mirrors that tilt down when you put the car in reverse.

it seems more and more i waste my time at work looking up resetting procedures because some system gets effed up after disconnecting it to repair something on the car

I think pretty much all car companies are guilty of this one. This kind of applies to taller people. How many times have you looked at a new car and thought "wow thats a nice looking car". Then you go to sit in it to get a closer look, then WHAM!!! You just dont fit in the car. Theres no headroom so when you look in front of you all you see is where the windshield meets the headliner, theres barely any room in the footwells because now theres so many gadgets in the center of the dash and console, that they had to reduce the room in the footwells to accomodate it all. I mean who the hell are designing the interiors of these cars hobbits???

DefinATELY THIS!!!!! At my valet job we are only allowed to back cars in and it pisses me off to no end when the mirror tilt down!!!

hmm let see.

Oh yea also cars with way too many cameras, i drove an infiniti not sure of the name but the big SUV one. It had blind spot camera back up camera , over the top view camera. When you back up and turn the wheel literally 3 cameras came on. It made my head hurt i just used my mirrors to avoid a seizure

Nitrogen filled tires, stupid waste of money if you ask me.

Is this something that manufacturers are pushing? I've only seen this at dealers for uninformed customers who think putting some magical gas in their tires will make everything better (the air we breathe is something like 78% nitrogen already!).

Windows that don't roll all the way down. Look, if your child is trying to leap out a window, they're still going to manage with that stupid chunk that can't be rolled down, and it's probably for the best.

Run flat tires on sports cars. They add so much damn unsprung weight, if you can afford the car you can afford AAA.

Unnecessary engine bay trim. I understand an engine cover in spite of never using them, but you don't need so much tacky plastic trim that there appears to be second hood under the actual hood.
