Thermostat

Whats involved on changing the t-stat on an 06 base model?

I'm assuming drain a gallon out of the system, pull the plastic cover off of the engine and the t-stat housing should be right there.
I see most places list a single gasket for it. Is this for the t-stat or for the housing?

I just want to get everything I need before I dig in. I did my coolant around a year ago and now I'm sorry I didn't do the t-stat.

I'm looking at a Stant superstat series as I like the idea of a more consistent temperature if they actually work.

dont even drain any coolant. just refill what you spill.

the gasket comes on the thermostat, it's the rubber o-ring.
