I know that you can get a 180 and 160 degree thermostat for your car. But what is the stock thermostat?
Thanks.

If for reference......I have a 2005 Grand Prix GT.

Yep. And without the fan turn on turn off temps being changed in the pcm you won't knotice any difference in temps except on the highway. And even with a 160* in the city with the fan turn on/ turn off temps changed i still see teps around 185.

Thanks. I am looking for some upgrades. I thought that a thermostat would be a good start.
Maybe later I will go as far as exhaust and such. For now i would like to keep the upgrades at a few hundred dollars each or so.

lol thats what i said to miself when i first got my car...now i have a bible of receipts.

I am sure as time goes by (and the money allows) I will stack up some receipts too. Right now I am looking for some good starting points. I have found a few web-sites that carry upgrades, but not a whole lot. So I am keeping my eyes open here to pick up any kind of help and advice.

A thermostat is a device for regulating the temperature of a system so that the system's temperature is maintained near a desired setpoint temperature.

yes. its like $4 at autozone.

anyone that runs a 160* thermostat clearly knows nothing about cars and how they run.
