nitrous does a good amount of cooling of the intake charge as well, but its combustible unlike a water injection that is taking up cylinder space, evaporating to cool the intake charge, and raising octane slightly.

So is it true that a dry on a gtp is better due to some saying that gasoline will take the coating of the rotors? I'm thinking about running nitrous also somewhere in the 100-125 area. Ive always ran nitrous on all my cars but like wet because i think its safer than dry and has better benefits for what i wanted. I dont care about meth/alky cuz at $2/lb for me and only use it when i need it sounds good to me.
 




Well... where else would you mount a wet kit? The dry obviously goes before the maf and the wet goes after... a regular wet set up is around 350 for a generic set up. Where as direct port is around 770 which is alot more than is needed especially for the power level i want to run. I dont plan on runnin a 500 shot like the direct port is capable of. Heck i dont even plan on runnin a 250 shot like the normal wet kit is capable of. So that is why id like to know if e85 or premium fuel truly eats the coating off the rotors as i have read other say.
 
Does anybody actually run nitrous on these cars? Perhaps is this why everyone ive seen only runs dry set up on our car. Maybe if they run wet thru the rotors and as it is compressed in the lower intake does it cause instability of the fuel/n2o mixture? However if that were so why would zzp sell wet kits?
 
you just said e85. hell yes run the nitrous through the blower from a spacer AFTER the MAF. however, e85 should not be run as anything but gas.

From what others say and personal experience, nitrous is great on the 3.8. a 75 shot made the GT beat stock ls1 cars, thats from completely stock besides exhaust and a tune (for nitrous).

Never heard of nitrous eating the coating on the rotors. Most people talk to hear themselves talk. Dont trust everything you see, especially online.
 
Ok so in a nutshell im ok with running a wet nitrous kit through a spacer between the throttle body n supercharger? Even though they say E85 is corrosive i'll still be fine?

Reread post from an unestablished viewpoint.

You want to run E85 as fuel and nitrous? You are saying when you go with a wet shot, the E85 will mix with the nitrous which will inturn hit the SC rotors?
I still believe there will be no adverse effects on the coating of the rotors.
You should be fine.
 
the e85 is being used as a fuel. its being injected in the cylinders. it wont contact the nitrous until the cylinders. nitrous is fine through the rotors. tons of people have done it.

if im missing something, please explain.
 
Got a hold of a buddy of mine and Ill be picking up a nitrous kit from him:th_thumbsup-wink:.
Hopefully next year Ill be able to get this thing to the track and see what it will do!
