• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

The progress on Masami while I work on her at school.

Well thus far its almost ready. I never got to finish uploading photos. The door is done and ready and the back panel is almost ready... gotta weld a bead on an edge that busted out while pulling it out with the Morgan knocker. Gotta patch the hole in the left quarter that happened when the drain port got clogged up and the drain hose had nowhere to drain but into the quarter panel itself. There's a dent and a small hole to patch on the right quarter...... and a little bit more surface rust to grind out and that's about it. Should be done by the end of february right before I get my return

Also, decklid and spoiler are on and as soon as I get long strand short strand regular filler and glaze on the driver fender for it to get jambed the hood will go on. Mirrors are safe inside the car and bumpers of course will go on last

I'm kinda curious as to what kind of welder you guys get to use.

I might pick one up here in a few months to start learning myself and who knows, maybe do some light body work.

We use a MIG welder (don't ask me what it stands for I don't remember lol). Which is a wire feed type welder. When working with automotive its better to use wire feed than a stick feed as it is more precise and such. But yea just find yourself some 20g steel and a cheap MIG welder and practice one inch welds. Flat, vertical up (welding up on a vertical panel) vertical down (welding down on a vertical panel) horizontal (welding horizontally on a vertical panel) and overhead (above eye level upside down) when you have that down move on to 18g steel and 16g steel. And for grand prix 22g which is super thin metal

Well time to finish uploading

Massive progress update. Brain not functioning right now so no text just photos. Also new painted part (rear bumper) and painted driver side mirror panel thingy.... ended up getting a run cuz I looked away from the panel like a moron while spraying clearcoat.

Cut out driver quarter panel and part of driver rocker that was rusted out. Fabricated new pieces for rocker and quarter backing support thingy. Cut out passenger side quarter patch, fabricated patch, patched it almost done just needs glaze, passenger fender lower patch cut fab'd and patched. Not a perfect fit but it'll be covered and its only temporary anyway

Inner panels glued with 3M panel bonding adhesive and screwed down to ensure as tight of a seal as possible and then used seam sealer to seal everything off. Also re-routed the drain tube to the semi-refabricated partially custom lol drain port. Undercoated entire inside of the rocker and redid the undercoat in the wheel-well

Last Sunday's "blizzard"

Before the "blizzard" when it was just big fluffy snow

When the "blizzard" finally hit us (for the whole half hour it lasted... though everyone north and west of us got absolutely ****ing destroyed. Up to 18" in some areas. I29 north was closed from Sioux Falls to the ND border for a day and from Brookings to the ND border for almost three. And I90 west to rapid city for two days. Almost up to the border. Black hills was one of the places hit the hardest.

Fender completely bolted down after patch. Driver side fender going to be sent to be jambed on Tuesday.

Damn nice work fixing the rust on the quarter panels. I have seen people junk an entire car before because those areas rust out. You are making a lot of progress on this car. I can't wait to see it all back together.

Should be completely done with body work by the end of march. Should be running again by mid april and after the Wisconsin-dells meet it will be getting a light turbo mod on current engine and rebuild and then once I have the money i'll drop a new heavily turbo'd engine in and a built trans. New suspension new exhaust need to find new rims.... I can get those ones clean but they're so destroyed it takes me five plus hours just to do one... and i'm not even done with that one yet LOL

Yeah your rims are really rough. I'd probably just get them media blasted or something and then polish them out. Or like you said find new rims that you like.

Actually not a lot to it. It's going a little too fast for my liking now that I have two more people helping me but Meh i'm glad its going this fast now cuz it'll be done for the wisconsin-dells meet with a full paint job and complete running engine and trans

Me either.... i'll be using a full tank once I can drive it again just cruising around.... i've been waiting for six months for this chance
