The Panda- Pretty Much a Racekar

Re: The Panda- New Adventures

Looks awesome!

I have 15% on my white car, I love it. I was wanting to do 20, but they didn't have it. It was 15 or 35 and I sure wasn't doing 35.

Re: The Panda- New Adventures

Do you have those ZZP valve covers?

They don't polish for some reason, I even took fritz metal polish to them, they permanently stain.

No but if it's metal I can polish it :th_winking:.. nothing a bench buffer and some Stainless compound, Emery or Tripoli and Rouge can't take care of

Yep! I've got a little 1hp monster buffer I like to play with, do lots of atv parts for people. Would love to get into GP parts but the market is very small.

Re: The Panda- New Adventures

Ya I love my 1hp buffer with 8" wheels.. i also have a 1/2hp buffer with 6" wheels for smaller projects... for the valve covers use some SS compound and a tight weave wheel to cut it fast then follow up with the tripoli and a medium weave wheel.. then finally use the white rouge and a loose wheel and those babies will shine! And if your feeling really ambitious follow up finally with a jeweler's rouge to make it like a mirror!

Edit: jumping right to the tripoli would be the best bet, the SS compound would probably cut way to fast.. also since they are already somewhat polished as well ;-)

Re: The Panda- New Adventures

It's not difficult you just have to get use to it. I have 5% all the way around for years and didn't have to roll the windows down at all.

Re: The Panda- New Adventures

at night time. can you even see out? like when backing up? I have 15% in my truck, and at night, I have to roll down the windows and look out that way. Cant see ****. looks good during the day. other than that it's a pita

I roll my front down so I can see my mirror and do a sanity check. That's only if I'm around other cars. If that's the biggest issue I run into, then it's worth it to me.

Re: The Panda- New Adventures

I wish I had a higher tolerance when it comes to tint. I couldn't imagine having to roll down the windows all the time, heck, I've never once rolled down the windows in the gold car since it's been tinted. White doesn't need anything under 20% to look "dark" IMO, due to the complete contrast between the tint and paint. 20% certainly looks a lot lighter on a color like black.

and one from tonight for those of you who appreciate good looking rear ends..... Sorry about the lighting

Re: The Panda- New Adventures

I have 15% and have to roll my windows down to see... but I never not have my windows down all ready lol the only time my windows are up is during winter or if it's raining lol
