The Original BlueKAR!

blueguy

The Blue One
If anyone wants a trial and tribulation of a Wbody...here ya go.

Guess you could say this adventure started in mid '06 when my buddy of mine bought a '97 GTP. We put a Ebay intake on it and took it for a spin...blower whine ='d instant win for me...so in early '07 a local dealership got in on trade for a new Charger, a Blue-Black Metallic GTP Sedan, K&N Drop-In, Tinted Windows, PERFECT CONDITION...with just a hair over 40,2xx miles on it. They were asking $14,250 at the time...got them down to 10K even and they even took my '86 Century on trade-in for $300 LOL. Drove it home...not a month later...it was down at the exhaust shop getting a full custom catback put on...but I never read anything so big, loud exhaust added tons of HP. I have a few pics of it when it was stock on my FB, but since I'm posting from work...I'll get them up later. Here is a pic of the catback installed...

And...with my 275's on my Bullitts...they were a hundred bucks...couldn't pass them up.

Everyone here knows that I don't support ZZP's PCMs OR their customer service...after 5 PCM's...and they way they handled it...I said screw it...too bad the damage was probably done. Mods at the time were...ZZP 3.5" Press-On Pulley, DIY PEM's, 3" Catless DP, FWI, 180*, AL104's, 1.84 Roller Rockers...and I got this as a X-Mas gift in December of '07..My first chipped piston...YAY!
chippedpiston.jpg

Figured it would be a good time to toss a bunch of mods at it...so I went with the typical XP/Pacesetter's/3.25"/Custom Tune Setup...went low 13's consistantly at about 105 or so. That build was awesome for me...ran like a raped ape. Racked up about 40K on that...then one night driving home...around 65-70 mph...I had the lights dim and the death rattle hit. Drove the car home and tore it all down that night till 4 in the morning to find the spark plug melted in the head and the valve TOTALLY gone...chucks of metal in the LIM...and awesome, no piston. Kicker that story was I had been laid off that morning...so it was probably the best day so far...EVAH. Secret race mods follow...I call it the cresent pushrod.

Got back on my feet and re-employed a couple months later...and started to get this car back on its feet too...you can see how all THAT went down in this awesome book here...

I'lll have pics up of the new exhaust/tips and how it sits today given its clean and I get off my a$$...hope you enjoy it.

Re: The Big Blue Paperweight

got any closer photos of your Valve covers? I'm kinda digging them. what all went into them

Re: The Big Blue Paperweight

You have a really nice car, with a good list of mods.:th_thumbsup-wink: Do your front tires rub any on full lock turns?

Nope...with the old bullitts it would rub BARELY with the 275's with stock everything suspension wise. With the new '05+ Bullitts...they have a different offset, plus they are 235/55/17's...the factory V6 'Stangbanger tire...so they are pretty close to the factory size tires on these cars and to answer your question...no they never touch at all. I am going to sell these tires and am going with some 255/45/17's instead.

Paint & Time. That's it...and those are the only pics I have really...I'm not a picture whore like other people tend to be...but they were free to me.
