Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

The GXP G8 cooks, 362HP!

yes it was shoulda been more specific...id almost give my left nut for that car lol.**** id prolly trade in my girlfriend for it though

omfg im assuming thats stock... do they have any mods out yet for it.imagine that car with all the **** available for gp's

Oh Yea!!!!The heart of the G8 GXP is the 6.2L LS3 small-block V-8, currently rated at 402 horsepower and 402 lb.-ft. of torque pending final SAE certification. This engine is the newest member of GM`s small-block V-8 family. It features a revised, larger-bore cylinder block, high-flow, L92-style cylinder heads; larger-diameter pistons; unique camshaft and camshaft timing; revised valvetrain with offset intake rocker arms; high-flow intake manifold; and high-flow fuel injectors.

Edit: In the time it took me to type, three other people posted, making my post meaningless. I pretty much posted the same thing as BADAZGTP.

im assuming its rear wheel drive... i saw a write up where gm was gonna go to all rear wheel drives in the future

Yea, I believe it is rear wheel drive. God forbid if it's fwd. You'd be constanly putting front tires on it. Wait, with that power, I'd be constantly putting rear tires on it. But, I think it would be a waste if it were fwd with having traction issues.

The G8 is RWD, but GM is not going over to RWD totally. They canned most of their USA RWD projects except the G8 and Camaro. CAFE standards were their reasoning.

they are committed to both of those cars as they are based on the Australian cars (no cafe there) and will sell, they are going to be niche cars so to speak.

Yeah I'll be sooo Pi$$ed at GM if they drop RWD. I have my sights set on a new Camaro. Waiting for the first run bugs to be worked out. Then hopefully, fingers crossed, either they go through with the 500hp Z28 or if they bring back the T/A.
That's what will become the GTPs big brother in my garage. :burnrubber0:

The wife has already pre-approved me :th_thumbsup-wink:

Thats such a crock. That tells me right there that the G8 and the Camaro may not be around too long.

gettem while u can...gas IS NOT GONNA GET ANT CHEAPER all manufactures are gonna be looking to compete for better fuel mileage...and the way the government is ... who knows they may put regulations on manufacturers to all go to FWD .:th_thumb-down:

Guys, don't freak out so much. That article is 16 months old. GM still went through with the Camaro and G8 despite the issues because the projects were already so far along, and they're committed to these cars. The fewer Camaros and G8s GM sells, the less they hurt their CAFE ratings. Which, as was mentioned, the gas hogs are going to be a niche market and GM knows it.

What happened that the article was talking about was stuff like the RWD Zeta based Impala got canned. They decided their number one selling sedan as a RWD wouldn't get good enough mileage, so they made the sacrifice of sticking with FWD for the Impala.

A decision that upset a lot of people over at NAIOA, but like I said it's old news.

im sure they already had these cars in production when that article came out...just have to wait and see
