Hey guys,

Whenever I had problems or questions with my truck the guys at LS1Truck would help me out, so I'm hoping you guys can do the same! In high school it was the cool thing to have a big lifted truck with exhaust and all that stuff, but now in college my truck is literally eating me alive in gas and maintenance costs. I've been looking for months (seems like years) for the right car, I think I may have finally found it. It's a 2006 Grand Prix base model with the 3.8 non-supercharged. It just rolled over 80k and seems like a very reliable car. I did a little research and found that while reliable, these things aren't too powerful stock. I was wondering before I bought it if there's anything I can do to increase the power? I remember reading somewhere that modded just right, these things could spank a stock SSEi. My girlfriend has one and it's pretty freaking fast so if I can get to that level, or past it I would be genuinely happy with this car!

Thanks!

NA Grand Prix's aren't fast, and they're not really worth modifying unless you're top swapping or going turbo. Pretty much everyone will tell you the same thing. If you want something *quick* find a GTP that is lower miles and hasn't been molested. I considered a na 3800 when I bought mine, and am so happy I went supercharged.

Well hell, I already pulled the trigger on it. I'll run it stock for awhile and if I'm really unsatisfied with it I'll see what I can do modding wise.

Silver lining is they're not slow either, I've driven plenty of cars slower than anything with a 3800.
