The Hobo G35, now with retrofits

Re: G35 coilovers happening naow

Is it tomorrow yet?

Take lots of before and after pictures.

I wish I would have on my cobalt.

Much funs.

Re: G35 coilovers happening naow

Let's talk headlights!

Ok I'm planning on doing a retrofit soon to my lights. Probably gonna snag a halogen set off eBay for 139.99 and swap lenses and swap hid hardware. I have stock hids in the car.

Ok so here are headlight ideas I've come across.

First we have the quad projector setup using mini morimoto projectors

A bit pricey but sexy nonetheless.

Next we have the painted black housing with a stained yellow reflector bowl

Pretty easy and pretty cheap to do.

Then we have the Holy grail q45 retrofit

Would love to do this but those aren't cheap and from what I've seen it takes massive cutting to make it fit.

I could just put a single mini morimoto in each headlight in the bottom reflector bowl with no cutting or modification needed as well.

So what's the best route?

Re: G35 coilovers happening naow

Fxr and Mini quad or even rx350 or 330

Q45 = overpriced and light output isn't great for what you pay for them

And no on the stained yellow glass,

X2

Quad minis is kinda worthless imo, I think kory did a fxr and mini quads on his gp. I'd even look into the MD2S over the MH1 if you stayed with a mini. Otherwise i like the fxr or 330 idea.

Q45 sucks unless you want looks

Re: G35 coilovers happening naow

Yes the yellow is ass but was an option, I saw some panamera shrouds that looked ok but don't know the dimensions of the headlight openings. Trying to do as little cutting as possible.

Re: G35 coilovers happening naow

Raceland makes some decent coilovers, especially for the price. Helped my cousin install a set on his Audi A4. He traded that for a 2000 Civic Si that also has Racelands on it if I remember correctly.

you're also high.

Re: G35 coilovers happening naow

Sure did.

Reasons?

Gift from the wife.

Have no interest in tracking the car.

It's a basic daily driver and a minimal costs are what I'm looking for. If they are crappy (I've heard good and bad things) I'll just have to take the hit.

Guy at my job has run racelands for years and has had no problems with them at all. Guess it's a ymmv kinda thing. Either way we will see how they work out.

Re: G35 coilovers happening naow

Well my current suspension sucks lol. I'm. Sure it's oem and this will be a good upgrade nonetheless lol
