Re: The silver surfer

Let me tell you a story.

A story about the magic that lies in the grand prix.....

As of late I've lost interest in my prix. Needed to breathe new life into it. I mean it's my third one and it's gotten kinda bland to me.

So I decided to do something magical.

I posted it for sale for 3500 on craiglist. Few of my friends said I wouldn't get more than 2500 for it no matter how clean it was and how low the mileage and the mods. They ain't worth anything. So I was little bummed but I still stayed in high spirits and keep it posted for the price of 3500.

But they were right. I only ended up getting a G for it. Only a Damn G.

A G35 THAT IS!

Straight swap! Yes you read correctly. My prix for his low mileage INFINITI G35. NO CASH NOTHING. Just handshakes and titles.

So I did something awesome to my car, I traded it for and even more awesome and worth even more car and didn't pay a dime for it. This car is a blast to drive and it's rwd and it's like and entire different beast.

Oh and Red, it's matte black and I hate it! Never using dip on this car ever! Lol.

So I'm going to turn this into my g35 sedan thread and hope you guys enjoy it!

They said I couldn't trade a prix for an g35 :)

Re: The silver surfer

Has 111,000 it's automatic (can't drive stick anyways lol). There's and even more awesome story behind the buyer. I'll post that in a few minutes and a few more pics.

Re: The silver surfer

Lol no. Stickers. No fruity colors. Here's and interior shot

Ok, so I met this guy on craiglist while searching for a g35. Wasnt planning on getting one unit tax time.

So with my usual browsing I run across a flat black matte g35 for 4650 with low miles. Then I read the ad and it said 4000 obo.

So I contact the guy and asks what's his bottom dollar and he says 3500 so I'm like great! I had a buyer setup for 3200 but he flaked at the last minute (I hate cl sometimes). So I asked the guy can I see the car when he's free and he brings past my job. Car was solid. No codes. No noises. No smells. Shifted great. Only one issue.

The paint. This matte stuff is horrible. He didn't mask right and it's on the windows and the trim.

He said he dipped it he car because the hood clearcoat was peeling and the rear bumper.

He had someone from craiglist paint the hood and bumper but he got scammed. They just put compound on and said they will be back in the morning and never came back. Smh.

So everything checks out and I say I'll buy the car on Friday (this was before the buyer backed out) and he asked what car was I selling so I said a supercharged grand prix. He asked to see it so we went to my parking lot behind the police station.

Soon as I started the car he started smiling, soon as popped the hood he started smiling even more.

Then he drove it, and he didn't stop smiling and asked how. About we just swap cars.

I said huh? In my mind but he was serious. Very serious. I think the sound and the speed and the sexy look of the Pontiac got me the deal (lol)

Re: The silver surfer

But, ugh. It's any early gen G35, so much bland guy.

Too bad it's not a G35x. I'm not sure if those 3.5 suffer from the same timing chain issue that the maxima/alitmas got during the early 2000's, but that seemed to happen at higher mileage anyway.

Side note: A guy from work just bought a 2007 G35x, so the newer body style and it's pretty sweet. Only 80k miles and I think he paid $12,900 but then add the extended warranty/tax/reg and bull**** and it's alot more LOL.

Re: The silver surfer

Lol. It's tons more fun than my prix. It's rwd. Aftermarket scene is better and I didn't spend a dime on it which means I can start making it sexy.

Plans is coils, xxr 968s, little engine Mods and have a little fun with it. Hopefully by Feb it'll look like this

Either look is fine lol
