The defacto guide to tuning your car for e85.

i'm going to switch to 100% ethanol, should be interesting to see what difference it makes at the drag strip. I ran a 9.77 best time on E70.
 


pure ethanol here I come, for the record it's denatured with sulfur, so not pure, but still E100.

any idea what cylinder gain I should use?
 
If Frosty is still here, Do you have the address to that Base Fuel > Crank > Coolant temp???? HPT support will not convert a bin for me. In order for them to add it to the HPT Editor they need the address. (Whatever that is) any help would be appreciated.
 
Stoich is available to set on my 07 so I may try that. I’ve tried all the other setups and it drives like shiiiiiit during wot. I can’t figure this E85 crap out. I have the e85 pump and 60# injectors, 3.0 pulley, 85mm maf. Any suggestions?
 
You don't want to just set stoich. Leave it at 14.7. Are you logging with a wideband and adjusting your MAF?
 


Ok so leave stoich alone? I will put it back to 14.7. I do have a wideband logging as well as ability to change maf settings. I do have a 85mm maf in there.
 
I can’t do the cold start part with tiny tuners. I can’t get my hptuners switched over to a bin file.

I’ll try to follow this exactly again and see what I come up with. :/
 
All your doing is enter your inector data, cylinder gain to 1.2-1.3 and tune like normal. You don't need tiny tuners.
 
Ok so I screwed up getting bigger injectors. Installed and ready to go. Does anyone have the procedure to get this running?

I put on Deka injectors, 3.0 pulley, and a high flow pump.
 


You need to first put in the injector flow rate for the dekas. Then, yes, cylinder gain and tune the MAF like normal. What have u done so far? Is the car running, idleing?
 
I finally got a wideband hooked up on my regal , and on e85 im seeing Gasoline AFRs, Stoich is still set to 14.7 in the tune. Should i adjust that down to 9.7 for the e85?
 


Bandook. What are the numbers for the Deka injectors?
It’s idling with a hard start. I have only put the gain to 1.3. That’s the only thing in the tune that I have changed. I need the other settings.
 
don't touch the stoich, I ran though this earlier in this thread I think, or someplace on here, afr is afr regardless of fuel type. you are making it more complicated than it needs to be.

What injectors do you have? I set my 80s by caclulating the ratio between stock and those.
stock is 32 iirc and mine are 80s The 80s are roughly 2.5 times bigger than stock, so i multiplied the injector flow rate by 2.5 and got a nice starting point.

thats good to know, I was afraid i was beating my car with bad fueling. I keep seeing these guides that say stoich for e85 is 9.6 and that WOT should be 7.7-8 and i freaked a little . Even my mustang is showing 9 on its wideband. for ex https://www.ecmtuning.com/wiki/e85fuel
