In that last one you can see my dad's 1984 Avanti in the background. That is the one that he drives around town to run errands and stuff.

That the stock motor in the GTP with 276K on it?

Yeah, the original engine in the truck developed a rod knock around 175k miles. So that crank was scrap anyway.

The engine is not original in the GTP. I replaced the engine at 160k in the GTP. I had replaced the LIM gasket, valve cover gaskets, oil pan gasket, etc, and shortly after lost oil pressure while driving. Didn't have the time to mess with it so bought a 60k mile L32 and replaced it. When I had time to look into it (the engine went 2 days before our wedding), I guess I didn't torque the bolts for the oil pickup when I replaced the oil pan gasket. But the trans is all original!
 
in the pic with the truck engine, i love the plywood under the hoist over dirt, been there and done that crap, nothing like cement floors when work on stuff.
