the bad window tint

i sure will be. Every window has a couple flaws on it. I really wouldn't mind telling them to refund the money and i'll go somewhere else to do it, even if they rip the crap off. I did it because thats where my parents paid to get it done. Christmas present

Gift certificates. Perfect reason for them to cut corners. They look at it like "f'it, he'll be happy, its free to him". "Put it on there and he won't ***** cause he didn't pay for it." To hell with that. Somebody paid for it, do it right damnit. Typical business who doesn't car about their reputation. I'd tell them to rip it off, clean your windows and give you a cash refund, or do it right and keep the money. Either way, they won't be in business too long with an attitude like that.

they paid directly for it. I told them that's all i wanted for christmas so they said they'd pay for it. Parents figured that with such a big name to protect they would have good service so they talked me into it. You bet they won't be getting off with this, I can't stand looking at those ricers with the bubbled tint

Don't get me wrong, rear windows with defrosters are HARD to tint. Especially with the 2 piece rear tint that a GP takes. Tinting is pretty much an art. Takes lots of skill, talent, patience, and hard work to back it up and learn it. It would be fine if you complained, showed them the defects, and they owned up to it and said yeah, our fault, here's your refund. BUT, they don't want to own up to it cause that would make them look bad. The only viable option they have is to say, yeah our rookie did that, we will have out best tint guy do it. Pick it up in 4 hours. If not, then they suck and don't have any "great" window tint installers. Again, window tint is HARD. Don't advertise you can do it if you don't have years of experience.

My buddys old job had a tinting guru this guy could tint any thing the dot matrix defroster crap he has some serious skills on but he also charges like 250 for the rear and back 2 windows but he also backs his product and also makes you sign a waiver for fronts cause of ca tint law but he still backs his work up
He tinted my ex's mustang back to fron with like a 35 she got so many tickets on that sh!t i just laughed at her

My car goes into the local GM dealership Thursday for 20% all around for $165. "know him" price only. Dealership won't make much. They PAY HIM $25/hr to tint windows. He's outstanding. He used to tint windows for my brothers business. They back the job with the 2 year warranty. If you don't "know him" it would be about $250 for the job being that GPs are 6 actual windows. All windows except for windshield tint strip on the windshield. I'd pay $350 for the quality he does. Just get a good deal because we deal with dealership 6 days a week.

Had my windows tinted last month... n2 weeks before Xmas by a local guy who warranties for LIFE. also does 1 piece rear windows.......

I never heard of Best Buy doing window tint. from what it looks like the tint itself is bad. the adhesive didnt stick. poor quality in order to make a buck.

so i'm not wrong for complaining about the dot problems? I know it'd be hard to go over that but i have not seen others that looked as bad as mine. I agree, it almost looks like the film itself is bad quality.

they're getting me in tomorrow to fix all the peeled edges... but said there's nothing they can do about the dot matrix. fair enough???

Why can't they do anything about the dots? My tint is stuck there. I'd tell them to do it right or refund.

Best Buy sells CD's, DVD's, Computers, Stereo's, Washers and Driers, etc... Now window tint? When they start doing oil changes and exhaust systems let me know! Jack of all trades, master of none!!!!
Gotta do the research, go to the professionals, Best Buy = FAIL!

i always tint my cars at the same place. they do fantastic work and everything is lifetime warranty. if you want a good tint job then you need to go to a good tint shop where that is all they do.

i paid $270 for 15% all around the car and 5% on the sunroof and windshield strip. this also included them stripping the old tint. 100% llumar film (high metallic) and lifetime warranty. i will be going back to the same place with my subaru soon and i would assume that their prices would be down slightly due to the economy. my subaru needs tint BAD.

wow that sux... we have a "25-yr tint specialist" in town that does basically EVERYONEs windows in the lower OK upper TX area. He gives NO warranty & holds NO responsibilities for you having it, but he tints it how you want... and to what you want... and its ALWAYS done right the first time. You sign off on it when you get it and he works and lives simply be rep alone. Ive taken both cars to get em done thru him, my miata at 5% all the way around was 120, my truck was 100 same way. friends 1 1/3 lol double layered 5% and 2.5% was 200... no bubbles on either... ever... hes awesome

*writes note to self, no references to Best Buy*

In MI your only allowed 4in of tint on your front driver and passenger windows and only 4in on the front windsheild. How dumb would that look?

I had one of Birmingham's finest threaten to give me a ticket for tint in my Mustang one night on Woodward. Please notice were I'm from. Maybe we should be giving people from Michigan tickets for no front plates?:th_scratchhead: This guy was just being a jerk.

I guess i'll just be putting up with the outline of the dot matrix. Just as long as they get the peeling edges and bubbles fixed i'll be okay
