• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

The 13 Day LS Fest Build Thread!

i like this. alot

god dammit though i really wish i coulda made the LS4 PS cooler work for the TR instead of the std "loop" upgrade....but the damn squirrels tail sits where our compressor pipe runs....

any chance i can get you to do me a favor? i have 4t80e trans plates but with the adjustment/layout for a tube chassis car. id love to get measures from the subframe to the 80e case at the drivers side rear lower cover and the passenger side diff.
id still like to make sure the axle centerline is still adjustable for straight cv angles.
i have a couple rough measures so i believe a weld on tab on the subframe below the rack is accessible for cv height change and still give about 1" of adjustment.

thankfully there's tons of room up front compared to out back

91parkavenuesarethebubblebuttsofthebuickworld said you might be interested in a bare set of CC plates for that jalopy...dont forget the strut seal wiping issue with these high hp cars...i still think thats one main reason GM went with the double tube bilsteins.

hows the trans doing? you do a regulator springs, balls, accum spacers/etc or is it oem?

the main trans guy on the left im looking to finish modifying for rack/subframe fitment with a bolt or weld in bracket. i have a feeling the bolt in bracket could be made to use the OE swaybar clamp fasteners on the outboard side but there's terribly little room inboard for a through bolt...

id work on it myself a bit if i was doing a build...but im going to cross my fingers with the unobtainium 65e the TR has....

After work I will answer the above in more detail...but here is a quick copy/paste from another update...

Made lots of progress this weekend. Time to stuff a sticky tire under it and limit some suspension travel.

40mph rolling into 15psi spun hard had to peddle a few times but still pulls really good. Only on 12-13 deg of timing and pump gas.

Also started sorting out the MSD two-step.

Looks like there is a track rental on Friday and the weather is promising. I have a few things left to do to be ready for the track (battery shut-off, new wheel studs, etc) But I fully plan on making some passes!

I am dying to know what it will turn! Feels really good right now and it's not even turned up.

Quick data dump for some of the guys following who might have missed the thread about the track outing...

Last Friday took the car to Lebanon Valley for some shake-down passes. Ran into some issues, but regardless the overall trip was a sucess. This car is really making some power and we havent even started to turn it up!

Basically, we went up with bone stock suspension and really old 26x10 slicks courtesy of Bill. Boost was 17-19psi through the run (gate pressure with the current spring and a little creep up top). We were running out of fuel bad at the top of every run with the single AEM 325lph E85 pump. Made it difficult to peddal through some passes to get a full track run, but I chanced it anyways haha.

Quickest pass of the day was [email protected] the fastest pass was [email protected].

60' time was horrible every pass. The weight transfer was brutal...the front would lift 3-4" and tuck the tire into the rear quarter lol.

The car had a race-weight of 3710lbs which means the car is making somewhere around 650-700hp on the current setup. We are heading back up to the track next week to make some passes, but before we go we are going to address the suspension, add an additional 325 pump in the tank, and turn up the boost controller! The car will go deep in the 10's just with the chassis adjustments I think. I would love to tick off a 9.9x but baby steps.

I was leaving on 5psi on the two-step at about 2200-2300. I want to try and bump the two-step up a hair and see if I can't get it to build a few more psi on the hit.

Here are a few videos from Friday.

The 4T80e worked realy well considering it was on the stock converter, but it definately has its own downsides that needs to be addressed. Either way we are off to an awesome start!
