Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

TFP code

I brought my car to mechanic. Pretty much did a complete rebuild, changed valve bodies, bands, and synchros. Code came back on. He took it to a technician and the issue is a "phantom Code" in the computer. Is this real? or is this something he is making up to divert blame for faulty work on my car?

Was code P1810 what came up? If so it could be a bad pressure switch manifold (TFP) and was not tested and or replaced. Also a bad internal wire harness can cause this code as well as pour connection on the trans connector. I have also seen the main engine wire harness rubbed through a few times near the ac accumulator and can cause wires to rub through and break or short out on the accumulator and cause odd behavior. Also since you mention chaning valve bodies there are early and late style valve bodies that use different style pressure switch manifolds and they are not a direct interchange but if the problem existed before the repair then it should have been the first thing to inspect. I wouldnt put the blame on the rebuild itself but electrically it still needs to be diagnosed correctly and repaired.

Yes it is p1810 code. The first time he pulled the tranny he replaced the pressure switch. He wanted to try and see if he could just replace that, but the code came back up so he pulled it a 2nd time and rebuilt it for the most part. They checked the harness and tested the computer. They replaced IAT sensor bc they said it was possible that it was throwing the code. Ill ask him bout the wire issues. The shop is taking it to a GM dealership and they're gonna look at it. Thanx for the reply

ok so they brought my car to GM and replaced some wires that were shorting. But now transmission slips. It was supposedly rebuilt. Any other things that could cause this?

does any body know what would cause my 4t65e to slip in reverse when it gets hot

There is at least one guy. Please start a thread of your own with Slips in Reverse as a title. Meanwhile I'll go do some research and hopefully help out if Dave doesn't see the thread before me. :th_laugh-lol3:
