Test maf and tps

Hey guys how would you go about testing these sensors with a multimeter? Also what readings are acceptable ranges?

maf = unplug and see if the car runs better.

if it does, your maf is bad.

Also, the MAF is frequency based... so have fun with that.

The TPS is voltage but there is a notice thing from GM saying that the TPS may fail because the voltage spikes so quickly it throws the ECM off and causes a poorly running car. But at the same time, they say it can't be detected by a tech 2 scanner.... and if it can't be detected by a tech 2, i doubt you would be able to see it.

hmmm it has to be so complicated. Well it runs the exact same ****ty way when i unplug the maf

Ok I'm pretty sure it's the catylictic converter I just wanted to rule out the maf. The car basicall doesn't want to accelerate I can step on the throttle and instead of taking off my car hesitates the surges and jump forward and then barely accelerates. Also when I shut the car off you can hear a bunch of air escaping through the air filter as if it can't escape through the exhaust or something.

get a 3 inch catted downpipe, fix your problem and you wont choke your car

That's what I want to do but I can't get the damn rusty bolts off but I need to drive the car by Monday for football so I'm going to try to get a magnaflow cat and clamp it in or put in a straigt pipe for a temporary solution

For a temporary fix I just cut out the old cat and put in a piece of exhaust pipe with clamps. The pb blast couldn't even get the bolts off they're so bad. I plan on getting a 3 inch down pipe and then either using a torch or most likely just run a new exhaust, just gotta figure out what I want
