Temperature on climate control

Thats probably a faulty ambient temp sensor, this has happened to me more than once. Its mounted behind the front bumper and can be most easily seen from underneath. Under twenty bucks at a GM dealer. Don't drop the new sensor!

that would be the outside temp sensor being shot. it lives clipped to the rad support.

is the cars heat acting up? when that thing goes bad the car gets confused. thinks is cold when its hot, or the other way.

The climate control is acting kind of weird. But it just started doing this. I'm looking for the sensor now ah I can't seem to find it

it can. the hvac gets confused.

if its only one side that wont change to hot or cold , and one side follows the climate control that could be a blend door actuator gone bad.

Ok. Air flow is not changing. Seems like it's stuck in the middle. What the heck?

Btw, new sensor at OReilly 12 bucks

off the pass side fire wall is a vac line that would be hooked to a port on the top of the super charger, look for this line and make sure its got vacuum or the hvac wont change flow directions.

you can see it in this pic.

that vac line then runs down the fender under the fuse box and some have a T some dont one side always goes into the wire harness that leads into the cab under the fuse box. and cars with the T the other side runs across the rad support to a vac ball in the driver side fender under the headlight. make sure no lines are broken, and all are hooked up.

Thanks SD! I just looked and found more "halfassery."

What the heck is THIS thing floating around in the engine bay?

mine runs down the fender next to the washer pump line to the wipers.

look around under the fuse box, maybe they took it off and its stuck on vent.

As much as I hate to say it, I think the dude cut this vac line and never replaced it. I'm going to try to find out where it goes in side the car and start there.....

Can't find a dang thing....I guess, unless there's another way to fix it, my son will have to put up with SMALL amount of airflow form all of the vents dangit!

take the glove box door off. look to the hard left close to the dash, you'll see a round pump with a vac line off the top, and a rod that moves in and out, theres another on the other side, but this one is easy to get too. pull the line off car running see if theres any vacuum when pushing the direction buttons. or if it moves at all. maybe the rod broke that it controls.

that vac line from the pump is said to run to a box in the dash behind everything else i guess. if you pull that lower cover off under the dash pass side, you'll see a bunch of wires come through the fire wall, thats where the vac line comes in the cab. you can look there for it too. it runs to this box im told is back there.

one of these days your gonna want just defroster.
