Was on my way home last night from the park with my kid and noticed that my temp gauge was all the way down. No CEL. I've heard of the gauge working on and off sometimes. This is the first time this has ever happened to me. I did have a break in the wire in the loom and I fixed that this past December I believe but that did throw a CEL code though. Could it just be the temp sensor starting to go bad? I got it from Autozone. The gauge did work this morning on my way to work.

re check the wires to it, they bake right over the cross over pipe's heat, get brittle and break.

wires move when driving, so off, on could be a bad wire. and thats about the hottest place under the hood, the wires almost touch the cross over pipe too.
the temp sensor has a short pig tail to it, you can take it off and give it a good once over. look for cracks or missing insulation on the wires.

I'll look into it when I get a chance. Just came back from lunch and still working fine. She might be mad at me for not working on her as much lately. Haha. Everything's been working pretty good so I just been working on cleaning mostly. I clay barred, polished, waxed and all that good stuff 2 weeks ago and this past saturday I cleaned the engine bay pretty good.
