Where at on the temp guage is a 2004 gp gtsuposted to run at. I got this car and It never heated up pass the quarter way mark. Now all of a sudden out of nowhere going up past the halfway point. The fans only turn on when it gets way up there On the gauge. New New fluid new thermostat New fan one relay. Does anybody know what I need to do to get Back to normal. Thank you
 


bleed the cooling system again, if you havent already.

It should run between the first solid dash and the middle.

Once its warmer out running around the middle is normal.

Temp will rise and fall with traffic conditions and how fast you are moving.
 
Now the low speed fans wont come on when it heats up. Realy frustrating. They did right after i changed temp sensor for ten min and now nothing. What is wrong with this thing dammit.
 


Do you know of anything that may be causing overheat issues? Check and recheck all fluids, then do the same with hoses and vacuum lines. Bleed the air several times until ALL the air comes out.

Going up the temp gauge to 210 is normal in hot weather and high traffic. If it gets super hot... say, on the freeway, then you have a cause for concern.

Your initial concern about the temps being very low, could be caused by a faulty thermostat that doesnt close completely or opens too soon. I know you put a new one in, but might wanna double check both that and the new sensor.

what temp thermostat did you put in? do you still have the old thermostat? are you sure you have the same temp as a replacement? my guess is you had a 180* or maybe but not as likely 160* tstat in there and you replaced it with a stock temp 195. years ago the big thing was to modify the Tstat by drilling a few 1/16th inch holes in it to allow a small amount of fluid to always move past.
 


The temp were never very low. They didnt go up this high before so i thought t stat was stuck closed . I took the stock one out and put the lower temp one in. A 180 . I pulled the fan relays and fan one smelt like a fryed mono amp so i got a new one. Its a gray four pin one. I dont love the fact it runs that dam hot b4 low speed kicks on . Thats lame. If i can find some one to lower it 2 190 low and 210 high id b a happy boy.
If thats what id dose that what it dose. i put open cone on next is 104s and wires. Than zzp off road dp
