Temp guage

I replaced my battery today, and now the temp guage isnt working. The guage itself still does the full sweep on start up, but doesnt display reading. Any ideas?

On a day I have time I will have to check all those connections over there. The heater is still working so I dont think it is the thermostat. I quickly checked connections and they seemed good, but that was a very fast check before work.

I checked all the connections in that area and everything was good. And the gauge still isnt working.

After looking around and talking to some people, I am thinking it may be the coolant sensor, which is a cheap fix, just looks like coolant will get everywhere.

Have the new part right there, ready to go. Keep your pressure cap on, keep the cooling system sealed. When you pull the old sensor out, thread the new one in quick. You might be surprised on how little coolant comes :th_thumbsup-wink:

Let me guess. You have an 04+ Grand Prix?

If so. I would try going to a parts store and having them clear the codes in the PCM and see it that does anything.

This happened to an 04 GP GT at a local meet after someone tuned it. I hooked up my scanner and deleted the codes in the PCM and it came back on. Don't know why but it did. lol

My car is having this issue after I looked in my fuse panel, still trying to find out which fuse is the issue.
