TB removal

Bump for assistance.

Anyone have any suggestions of what I could inspect/adjust/replace to try and get rid of that code 0507 before I take it to a shop?
 


Scratch that, I looked it up. If your car is running around 900 RPM, then there is nothing wrong. It's possible that your computer was relearning the idle since you cleaned the TB. It may just have triggered the code in the process. I would first have someone clear the codes with a scanner. If it comes back after that research how to adjust your idle before you do anything further. Hope this helps.
 
Thank you, sorry for not posting the code description. Right now the car idles around 1100. I disconnected the battery for 15 minutes or so and when I reconnected it they were still there. I'll try having them cleared with a buddies scanner.
 
Anyone have info on how to adjust my idle rpms? I tried adjusting the cruise cable but that does nothing, is there some other mechanical adjustment I can make? Also if the car is misfiring shouldn't I be able to feel/hear it?
 
First off, if it's missing you should feel it when you get on the gas. It's pretty hard to miss a misfire in a cylinder. Secondly, if you have any throttle body cleaner left try starting your car and spray some of it around the throttle body where it's attached to the intake. If your engine rpm's increase you have an air leak. It's a cheap test and it's a good idea to start eliminating possibilities.
 


the low idle could be from hooking the cable up differently after you cleaned it. my buick,3.8, you can adjust the little stop on the throttle cable, which made mine idle higher. a little flat screwdriver should be all ya need. maybe needlenose. any one else agree?
 
i meant that you should be able to adjust it to go either way... my car was sputtering and dying, so i made it idle high. (i was in high school and broke) lol
 


Update: Weather and work prevented me from getting to this sooner but in the end I was able to adjust the idle speed using the tips you guys provided. Thanks again car is running great again!
