TB removal

I'd like to clean out my TB and do it right by removing the TB and really getting in there. Does anyone have a write up/link about how to remove the TB? Do I need to disconnect the battery first? Any other important things to know? Thanks.

Thank you both, sorry one last question. I remove the entire throttle body cable assembly or no? Like it's bolted to the TB with 2 10mm or do the cables themselves come off somehow? Sorry I'm a total noob at this kind of thing.

Cables come off, the cruse pushes forward and pops off, the throttle cable as a little dowel on the end, you should be able to see how they come off.

Update.

Car was running great and then all of a sudden today during normal driving the SES light came on. I know it's a real general question but any suggestions about things to check related to my TB cleaning that might have tripped the light before I take it somewhere? Car seems to still be running good and I don't notice any loss of power or mpg.

Ah should have clarified, it got plugged back in when the TB went back on. I'm headed out to pepboys in a bit to see what they can tell me.

Update. Finally took the car to AZ today and they found two codes:

P0507
and
P0305

the 0305 cylinder 5 misfire I think is just a result of my own stupidity. I took a plug wire off to check it and started the car with it still off. Car only ran for a second before I remembered and shut it off. Is there a way to reset the codes to see if this will clear now that everything is hooked back up?

The 0305 engine idle too/high low is confusing me. All I did was clean the TB and run a can of seafoam through the gas. The car seems to run great now no surging, not sluggish etc.. Is there a quick fix that I can try to correct this issue? Thanks in advance.

Try disconnecting your Battery and leave it diconnected for approx. 5 minutes then reconnect. That should clear the codes.

Thank you. I'll try that tonight and see if that clears the cylinder 5 code. Anybody able to offer any insight about the idle speed/throttle body issue?
