The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.
Yea yea I know red. Sorry W-Body community. And you know what... It's been humid AF these past couple days when I've been painting... It's gunna have to do.... Cuz W-Body meet
Like RED said.
the black Dupli perfect match and clear will give you shine for the rails.
You might want to try the same with the grills, but it will chip off the nickel plating... guaranteed little bro
Mine haven't been fazed so far since I did them with a plastidip black coat as primer
I did maybe 3 light coats encompassing the front and back. They say thin Plastidip peels hard so..
Coated with rustoleum and duplicolor high performance wheel coating clear.
You could try that with white dip and silver high performance wheel coating silver and clear
Anything lacquer loves to blush in high humidity. You might try warming or cooling the can before applying (put in warm or cool water), one of those might improve the gloss by preventing blushing. The cure is slower drying but with rattle cans theres no using a different thinner to suit the weather so you get this scenario. If blushing is the issue, you won't be able to buff it up much better, re-application is required. Everybody at the meet will obviously be cool W-body people so don't sweat it.
That was my first thought with it not glossing is the humidity. I had this problem too with my winter wheels as well... But that was just with it being to cold. So I warmed up the can in a space heater and all was better. And yes. I know that there is nothing but great people there
Still alive and well... I really havent done much to the car besides washing it until the last couple of days.
There was a super annoying ticketing comming from my driver side hub... Which pisses me off becuase I changed that hub a year or so ago. I'm going to try and take it back to autozone and get it warranted. It is so nice now with no tick and no lights. Everything went good on it besides my dad loosing the brake cap. So I had to steal one off my mom's truck and I gotta grab her one tonight.
AND! I tried selling my strut brace I got last year at the meet becuase I didn't want to drill holes in my car. But! I was reading on gpona and someone said that under that black sticky shiz on each strut tower already had holes drilled. When I read that I ran to my car and scraped off the gooey stuff. And sure enough there were holes so I slapped on my strut tower brace. And I noticed a slight difference. My front end handling wise is perfect for me other than lowering it. I plan on painting it silver here soon.
And my mufflers are rusting out so I pretty much am adding 25 hp for however how many dB levels above stock sound I am.
Due to the trs fourth of July sale I got some more headlight goodies.
found theses in the bargain bin for 15 bucks so I had to. And then...
I got xsb for the inside part of the headlight. Like where the brights bulb is. It will also be turn signal. I had all four mocked up bust must not have taken a picture the xsb is a little bit of a different color. It's more of a 6k than a 5500k that the xb halo has. But it's not very noticeable at all so it's staying.
They are SO bright. Plan on doing the whole thing in about two weeks. As I was telling Russ at the meet I need to move my projector back a little bit becuase it is hitting my headlight Lens.
Also kinda pissed off becuase I replaced my hub that had the ticking and when I brake while turning, my abs kicks in. So I'm not sure what's going on
My quad halos are all done. I haven't got a good picture of then yet... But I overall like how they look. I wired them to there own switch. Outside halos on one, inside on the other. And I'm happy I did that becuase of the different color of the halos. I've been using the outside during the day and inside at night.
This was when I just finished so the lenses were still dirty af from all the butle goo and crap. I didn't end up re aiming them.
