• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Tanks silver 04 GT2 (lots of pics)

Probably best to replace them while your at it.. Monroe mounts and kyb gr2 or excel struts. Reuse everything else from the factory ones.

Grand prix problems. It is cold af in Michigan The temp was about 7 and windchill at about - 17. I got in today after practice like usual and I went to turn out of school and it just died... It did thst about 5 times on the way home. It would die. I would put it in neutral it would start up. And then do not again once I gave it a substantial amount of gas it would die. It seems like if I gave it more than 50% throttle rpms would drop fast and die. then I turned into a side road close to my house to see if it was still doing it. I gave it some gas and it was ok... I noticed the engine temperature was going up so I figured it had something to do with it being cold. But I did just read on a page that it could be a crank sensor.

got my alignment re done for like the 5 th time today. warranty's rule. so far it seems much better then before.

also helped a friend install a new circulation pump on his furnace. what fun that was. of course every valve we touched either failed to turn off or leaked when open lol did some of that turn it back in a bit and it would stop leaking. had to play with 2 valves.

the fun one was the water supply it never shut off 100% and then the drain line valve refused to seal when off. old crap i tell ya.

Let me guess... This was for the 'what did you do today' thread;)

so did you notice if the tach dropped to zero before it stalled? if so crank sensor for sure.

im in the right thread this time right? lol

Haha yes you are forgiven since you are helping me out;) yea... It chilled out at like 2-300 rpms and then died... I saved it from dying once just by playing with the throttle

I have no check engine light though... Could I still have a code? And Holy Sht... I just watched the video and it seems like a ginormous pita.

you can, once something starts to act up a code is pending till it acts up more then sets the light.

when my icm started to act up it stumbled a few times, i scanned it and had two pending codes. next day the light came on with the same codes.

Ahh alright... I have a scanner so I can check. But I'm kind of freaking out becuase I have no way of fixing right now because of cold... And I really don't want to send it to a shop. Would I need to reprogram or over write it?

reprogram or over ride what? clear the code after you write it down if one is pending.

new crank sensors sometimes need a crank learn. most are just fine. and the cel will light up if you need to do a crank learn.

Yea that's what I ment. Crank learn... Couldn't find the right word. I guess the job doesn't sound to scary besides getting off the balancer

how to change a crank sensor "billboost37" grandprixforums.net what i searched.

if you know who posted it, add their name. if you have any clue what the thread name is. and add grandprixforums.net at the end. and you got a good shot with google. (faster then the sites bs search thats for sure.)
