Taillights??

So where do i start. for the 97 to 03 ppl, what do you guys do with your taillights and moisture wise? My drivers side collects all the moisture and sh*t inside of it and im getting aggravated over it. Has anyone bought new decent looking ones from somewhere? or fixed this problem? haha Thanks

a) tint them and youll never see the moisture again. this also helps to seal them because youre putting another layer over the plastic.

b) get a new set

c) seal them with caulk (likely to leak again)

d) take them off your car overnight each time it happens and theyll be good in the morning when you want to leave.

you have a few choices..

I've had my Carbon Fiber Euro Altezza taillights for about a year and haven't really had many moisture problems. They're still clear as crystal too.

Im trying to keep the car as close to legal as i can, lol. Wyotech cops give a LOT of **** to student that have illegal stuff. I just want something 100percent legal or to fix it..

what does taking it off do to help it air out??

then just clear coat them. maybe a very light tint.

taking out the light helps. then its open to the air and no in your trunk where no air moves. it will just air it out quicker than just leaving it in the car.

i gotcha. So is it the top of the actual taillight that seeps in water, or is it just the plastic? what would clearing them do?? thanks btw!

clearing would just put another layer on top of the lights. you could also polish them nicer if you do a good job with the painting.

well, i just took out the light that was bad, ive never noticed this before, but there was about 2 lbs of water in it.. lol It looked like a freaking fishtank! hahah so now im gunna let that dry, and then seal her up and maybe put 2 layers of tint on depending how i feel :)

remove the light and check out all the seams, check the front and rear of it. see if u can spot where moisture comes in. if there is a hole where the moisture comes in use silicone to seal it. i had same type issue (other vehicle) and done that and that took care of the problem. your light can have a crack somewhere or not seal proper in some spots. i would check where the studs are attached to the plastic, where u bolt them on to the car, chances are it might be cracked on the base of the plastic.

I know the pain about the cops, finished up Tech, Laramie Campus a little over a year ago. Really tails wont be a problem though. Since you have out of state plates.
