tail lights

My daighters 99 GTP has a delaminated passenger tailight. I am trying to get another one but, as you know, they are hard to find in good condition. So I was considering buying one from Rock Auto - a PYC but I don't know how well it will mach up wth the left OEM tail in appearance and color.

I would rather spend $130.00 and buy one rather than buying two. I have seen some on Ebay at Morad but they want over $200.00 for the set.

I would also consider other aftermarket lights but I want them to look fairly stock. I don't what the ones with a lot of bling or chrome on the inside.

Again, I would like to just find one that matches up with the OEM. Does anyone have any experience with comparing the different lights that can help me out?

I can get an OEM for $173.00 from GM parts direct but they want another $40 for shipping. I have a hard time bringing myself to paying $40 to ship one tail light.

I also don't really know anything about the LED tails. I would consider those if I could get a good idea of what they looked like when they are on or or if someone could point me in the direction of an exact pair. Maybe a good picture and then tell me what brand they are and where you got them?

The car is black.

I replaced my stockers that were delaminating with the red LED tails. The LEDs are very bright when the brakes are applied. Here is a side by side comparison between OEM and LED. You can find them on ebay http://www.ebay.com/itm/97-03-GRAND...=Model:Grand+Prix&vxp=mtr&hash=item35b4483609

Hey thanks for the replys. Guz, you don't happen to have a picture of that car at night with the tails on do you? I am wondering what it looks like with the running lights on.

do you have to do anything different when you hook them up because they are LED or are they completely plug and play?

Didn't notice that when I posted must be light because its actually the other way around but they both do have some fogging to them passengers is not too bad

Bronco Boy has some good pics in his link. I don't have any myself. The lights themselves are completely plug and play. Mine fit with no issues. On my brothers 03, we had to elongate one of the holes just a little bit to have the gap between the light and bumper be the same as stock.
