Tahoes Suck

So while driving home today I was a ways back from the guy ahead of me, and he slammed on his brakes to stop for the person ahead of him and I did the same when I saw his lights come, but instead of my Tahoe stopping it only slowed down, I was pushing the pedal to the floor. It did nothing to his stupid ford ranger, but my bumper is all pushed in, this woulnd't have happened if I had the GP. It's better than it coulda been, because he didn't call the cops or anything, and my license is currently missing.

Are your breaks in good cond??
My uncle had a 99 Tahoe and his stopped pretty decent...I avoided a collision in his before.

Yea this is unusual. I have an 04 Tahoe and it rides great and it brakes really nicely. You should probably check your breaks out.

Brake pad upgrades won't cure the issue if it's an GMT-800 platform 'Hoe. The biggest single issue with them is the OEM hoses; Russell and Earls make a sweet complete braided upgrade that dramatically improves braking performance. My SSS wouldn't stop from 70 mph is a half mile with the OEM rubbers.

Yeah, those brakes are toast, and right now the bumper, grille, lights are off, and I'm working with a large hammer to get it bent back close to normal
