Tach & Fuel Gauge Stop Working

Alright so I was driving home from Perkins about a half hour ago when my tach dropped to 0 and fuel gauge read empty (I have 1/4 tank of gas left) and my traction control turned off while driving. The car was still running just fine as far as I could tell. Speedo and other gauges appeared to be working correctly. I pulled off into a parking lot, turned the car off, opened the door, then proceeded to restart the car and the gauges worked just fine again. I'm just wondering what would cause this to happen. I did a quick Google search on my phone in the parking lot and the general consensus was the CPS, but all those cases resulted in the car sputtering and dying, neither of which mine did. Meh? Meh.

Is one of those gauges an Aeroforce? I've noticed If I leave mine hooked up to the OBD2 it can cause issues like this.

That's what I was getting at. Anything on the obd port can mess up 04+ gauges.

Any other advice I have for you at this point in the morning would be random guesses, like grounds, fuses, etc.

Well it works fine for now so I'm not too worried about it. You know, until my **** goes all crazy and lights my face on fire causing me to hit a police officer, eventually landing me in a federal prison. But whatever, you know?

I saw a guy who frequents a few bars I go to hit a cop car and run. He got away for a couple hours, then he went to jail and I haven't seen him since...

Its just gauges, how important can they really be?
