just got my gp and im woundering what t stat i should put in? its the NA motor. Dont plan on doing anything to the motor exept a cone intake and maybe powerlog, but probualy wont because i want to put a L67 in later. What t stat should be in it?

When i had our GP people said no lower than 180, my guess is as long as you dont use it in the winter.

IM JUST KIDDING LOL. they say no one needs colder then 180 any time of the year unless you have some seriously heavy mods going on

^^^Lol, hey so i was right, you ****ER. LOL jk jk, ya i think even with mods the 180 should be just fine.

there's no need to EVER run a 180* thermostat.
I've been running a 180 for 5 years, Just made me feel comfortable seeing the temp needle sit below the 1/2 mark(just a tick above 1/4).
What kind of benefit would I see going back to a 195? or should I just leave it cuz if it ain't broke?

better gas mileage.

i don't think the 180* thermostat does anything to reduce detonation, especially on a n/a car.

A good clean coolant system with a good radiator cap and a 195* thermostat will always be better than just slapping a 180* thermostat in.

The Southern Heat is the only reason I run a 180, never had a problem...yet and on the open TX roads I get 28-30MPG at 70mph Cruise Control.

I got 180 cause it gets really hot in spring and summer time over here in So Cal. Nice clean Coolant with 180 Tstat and had the needle under the half and over the 1/4 mark. Best spot for that needle to stay at spot.
