Symptoms of broken flex plate?

Did a quick search and yielded two pages of no answers. Recently noticed at idle either in park or in neutral I hear ticking sound from the bottom of the car.when I put it in gear the ticking stops.my guts is the flex plate cracked? I know I would know for certain if I look under the car and inspect it myself but don't have the time currently to do so.

i listened to the sound in the vid. it doesnt sound as bad as that. its more of a ticking sound. i'll try and get a vid but its been raining here since yesterday and that sucks

fst yours doesnt sounds as bad but it sounds similar. maybe its a small crack. are you sure your flexplate bolts are tight?

if by the bolts you meant the torque converter to flywheel(3 of them), i checked each one and they're tight. trannyman used locktite on them fwiw. now if you meant the bolts connecting the flywheel to the motor, then no and i imagine that'll be hard to see from under the car without disconnecting the TC from the flywheel. i peeked under the car and i could not see or make out any cracks on the areas where they tend to crack. perhaps its more upward near the 6-8 bolts where it connects to the motor.

i was planning on doing that but i spent nearly half an hour closely inspecting the 3 spokes that tend to crack and actually found a feint hairline crack that is close to the center bolts that mate to the motor. so, looks like i'll need another flexplate and once i do, get a shop to do the swap:(

upside is im planning on getting a meziere billet flexplate:th_thumbsup-wink:
