Swapping a 94 bonneville supercharger

QUESTIONS

Can you interchange a 94 bonneville 3.8L supercharger with a 04 Grand prix GT?
Can you interchange any other Pontiac supercharger into a Grand Prix GT or do I have to only look at Grand Prix superchargers?
Is it better to get a supercharger from the scrap yard and then refurbish it or buy new out of the box?
I am looking for one on the internet but dont want to get out of the box if I dont have to, you know save some coin.

THANKS

Your 04 gt is supercharged? You need a gen v supercharger. Just find one at a junk yard with a lot of the coating on the rotors left.

The 94 Bonneville had the Gen 3 M62 blower. It's the second most inefficient charger offered on the 3800 motor. The 92-93 Gen 2 M62 was the most inefficient. The same blowers were also found on the PAU and Riviera.

Starting in 96 the 3800 Series II supercharged motor came out and was equipped with the Gen 3 M90. Then in 98 the vacuum tree by the TB disappeared and in 04 the Gen V M90 came on the scene.

To further answer the question, the intake manifold and heads are totally different and won't match up either. If you used an M62 on your 04, it would be a custom intake manifold, inefficient and a bad idea.

Thanks for the advice, I saw it on Kijiji for $200 and thought, " Hey 3.8, 3.8..." Thats why I asked. I just talked to a guy and he said that he put a aftermarket supercharger in his GT and the engine wasnt strong enough to utilize it. Should I look into getting other mods first and wait till spring and toss an aftermarket one in?

yeah, read up on the "safely modding your 3800" thread. youll learn a lot. ask any questions you have.
