The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.
Alright thanks for the tips guys. turns out i may only need a new oil pump valve an spring im gonna replace the whole pump an we will see what happens.
True that been there done that as well and it was for less then a min. I just got a other L67 block with less then 50,000 miles for well less then $1,000... While the motor is out the lower intake and blower housing were both ported and polished and mod to be able to take in more air... With the cam, springs and rockers I am going to be running... I will not need an intercooler with my setup.... After the dyno tune... I will be pushing way more power then the stock L32 and cost me much less then me getting that block....
The pump didnt die completely it just has low oil pressure at low rpms under acceleration the pressure would go back up. Its hard to explain. i still think im prob gonna have to do bearings an seals but my dad seems to think maybe not. We'll find out once i start tearin into it whats really gonna have to be done.
Unfortunately i didnt have a gauge so i dont have numbers but thats what was explained to me as what was happening. I am def getting a gauge now though and already had been planning on getting one this week before this all happened i wish i had gotten 1 sooner.
^ thats what i said too but hes tryin to say maybe not. apparently his buddy whose also a mechanic was saying that the knocking sound is the space where the oil should be just hitting an i was like well then its beating itself to death an the bearings are still gonna be messed up just like i said. ill be pulling some bearings an checking them when i drop the pan so he will see then that i might as well have just pulled the motor in the beginning like i wanted to. an then i will an ill get the crank machined an replace all the bearings an seals an the oil pan gasket an pickup gasket an the oil pump like originally planned. its just gonna take that much longer because i wont have just pulled it in the first place like i wanted
