Swap a Series II for a Series III

Hello,

I just bought a 2004 Grand Prix GT that had the series III engine. The engine has 220k on it but the body is AWESOME condition inside and out. It was owned by a company and I bought it from an auction. I have had trouble finding a series III but I found a series II for cheap that was already rebuilt with head gasket redone - intake gasket and valve seats....

Well the question I have what would I need to do to make this happen? I know that the one I am taking out is Electric throttle and the one going in is wire throttle. I would need it to be able to be wire of course. Would I have to change the intake on the series II before I place it on the engine. Or is there an adapter I can simply place on the upper intake to accept that will accept the series III throttle body?

Any help in making this happen would be great.

THanks

series 3 has better rods........

edit; nm i dont think that happened till 06 in the n/a

You have to swap your whole top end over for it to work, aswell as some smaller parts like maybe brackets and pulleys.

04+ can only use the DBW TB, you can't make it a cable tb car.

Its pretty simple.

By top end he means lower intake manifold, super charger, throttle body. When you sit them side by side, you will find that they are basically the same and (the blocks are identical). Swap the few differences over and off you go.
