Im looking into lowering my car just alil bit to lower center of gravity and for wheel gap.
I found a deal that comes with 4 KYB GR2 struts with Vogtland springs for 400-500 buks and lowers the car 1.2" all around. Anyone have a pic of a car with those springs and do you guys think its a good deal or will i have to replace the shocks every 10-20k miles?
 


ok thanks. i was just woundering if anyone had first hand experiance with them. But i dont get that the vogtlands are a low drop spring at 1.2" all around and the eibach are a medium drop spring at 1.3" front and 1" rear
 
well, the problem with your statement is that those drop rates are wrong. way wrong.

vogtlands will drop the car around an inch whereas eibach will drop the car around two.
 
Vogtlands are what I have and I really like them. Yes the drop is not as drastic but you don't compromise ride quality at all. Honestly, and people will disagree, but I have heard way more bad things about Eibach springs than I have about Vogtlands or any others. SSC is the norm for just about everyone. I guess it all depends on what you want. If you want a decent drop and a good ride get the Vogtlands.
 
Also any decent drop on kyb gr2's and your going to hate the ride. I would suggest stock struts over those if you drop the car enough.
 


Ok I was going by what the site I was on said the drop was and wanted to post it and see if it was rite or wrong. The eibachs are the prokit not the sportline kit.
Anyway ill Prolly go with the vogtland cuz of the drop and they are suspost to ride better. But you say to use stock struts over the gr2s? The gr2s are only like 10% stiffer correct?
 
If your gonna buy struts, don't waste money on gr2. Get agx and do it right the first time. No matter what spring you choose, im sure you'll like it. Nothings like lowering your car.
 
I wouldn't mind getting the agxs. But the vogtland are suspost ne able.to be used with stock struts aren't they? I know a lot of people say different on struts and even with just a 1" drop I would need those struts. Aren't those for more aggressive drops and the gr2s have a 1" drop warranty? Im asking cuz this is a kit with the gr2s and springs?
 


i just ordered gr-2's with B&G springs.. ive heard good things about that combo. 4 struts and springs from WBS... struts are on sale for 250.00 and springs were 200.

Hope you got the anti pogo washers. You will need them. I had this combo for a bit and after about 10K miles the GR2's started going out. That's what swayed me to the GMPP lowering kit which I have been running for awhle now.
 
the AGX are not specifically meant for lowering springs, nor are any struts. the real reason to buy them is because they are adjustable and you can change the settings so they match the springs that you are running. harsh rides are produced by mismatched springs and struts. stiff rides are not harsh unless the setup is not matched properly.
 
I've ridden/tuned/drove plenty of lowered w-bodys and most often the gr-2's go to **** with any drop after a few miles. I'd like to get agx's, but at $400 i'd rather spend it on performance mods that get me down a straight track.
 


Both the AGX And GR2 are not warrantied if you put them on lowering springs. The AGX is supposed to hold up better than the GR2 on lowering springs. Vogtlands are the company that supplied GMPP with the springs for the old GMPP lowering kit. The only difference was that they used Koni struts.
 
I thought the kybs where covered but I guess not. But the vogtland are a 1" or less drop and how are the ride of those? Aren't they suspost to be caparable to stock? I can get gr2s from work with a discount. But the agxs would be full price. Anyone has these springs?

Hmmmmmmm? I have them on AGX struts.
