Funny problem. 2001 GTP with rebuilt tranny (195K miles) and currently 224K miles. Car runs great but I have noticed that when going up a slight grade and the car wants to shift up that it will oscillate between 2-3 or 3-4 gear unless I get on or off the throttle a bit. RPM will hunt about 1000 rpm but if I get in or out of the throttle it will lock up just fine and stay there unless it gets to a shift point again due to road grade.

Does not have to be a big grade. Does it on the freeway sometimes too. I am thinking an electronic problem but not sure. I had the transmission fluid drained and put some Lucas treatment in it which seems to smooth out the shifting a bit but I still have the oscillation on a grade.

Any ideas??
