Superchargers

So how many people would be interested in supercharging there cars. I have been contacting a few companys about offering products for the ls4. After all there are four different car seires that use this combo. i thnk with support from at least the GXP MCSS and ISS car guys this could become a reality. Alot eaiser install and cleaner look, and lower underhood temp. And really help the ls4 pull harder in the top end of 2 and 3-4 gears. I love turbos but i have not impressed with the setup offered to us for our cars. IM being serious about this please let me know. From what i talked over with the manufacures most want about 100-150 people interested. Most are intercooled..air to water... Which is the only ones i would be interested in personally. So let me know

I don't own one, but I can speak for at least a few LS4 owners on NAIOA that would be interested. Dependent on price, of course. Anything is possible with enough money.

I think a CSC would be the easiest way to go and is more efficient than roots type blowers. These would also eliminate possible hood clearance issues.

pricing we dont know yet. im assuming. it would be around the 5 grand mark. Since this is a usaul price for most chargers/turbo kits. They cartuning turbo kit is 5400 on pfyc I was really interested in that kit till i looked at the install manual. The fit and finish seems poor to me. And alot of work. The benifits with a charger would but easier install, cleaner look, lower underhood temps. Look more factory to me. As i have posted before im chassing other after market companys about products.

lol i understand the funds issue.im right there with u all. i cant even afford the cheap things i wanna do. mods of around 200$ like window tint, led tail lights, throttle body spacer, IAT mod.. BUT even if they started on this Tommorrow it wouldnt be ready for atleat 3 months. So we all have time to save up. Thanks guys this is gonna hard to get them do to this. They offered me to become a dealer to push there kits, that way not all the expense is on them.

Since putting a supercharger on would require modifying the serpentine belt, I don't think it would be much easier to install than a cam and heads (or maybe rockers and heads while trying to keep DOD). I've been looking at a cam and heads because I want to move the torque curve up. The 300ft-lbs or so at 2000RPM already blow the tires up (I can roast them at pretty much any point in first gear) anyway, so I'm only after top end torque. I wouldn't mind giving up 20 - 50 ft-lbs on the low end to get the engine to rev (maybe 7000RPM redline?) because even a supercharged V6 can easily roast the tires from a stop. Besides, at 10:1 compression I wouldn't want to add much boost.

Personally, I'm going to save up to get the transmission built for power first, and just enjoy the factory warranty and upgraded stereo in the mean time.

since you would be in the general area... replacing the heads wouldnt be that far away...

I would invest in some ARP head studs....since you are going blower. normal MLS factory head gaskets are fine.

supercharger sounds great to me.....im looking to do everything possible to this car...let me know..and we can trial by fire on mine...give me all the parts and the companies that make them...cams, lifters, rockers, pcm chips, down pipes, throttle bodies and extenders, strut tower stabalizers, tranny mods, thermostats etc....hit me with them...or each of you give me a dream or wish list of what you recommend and the companies name and the website or contact number....we will get this rolling...

Drunk post FTW

Get a GXP, beat on it and lemme know how long the tranny lasts.

Truth is, beat on it, it dies faster. The end.

But you can make it last longer by getting a built one. :D

I'm very interested, and like the rest I'm going to have to save up money. Right now I'm working on exhaust. Thinking of the magnaflow catback system that's offered. Took off the stock exhaust and running it straight out of the cat, it's really loud and shakes the car since it's right under the armrest.

theres s/c kits for the other gm 5.3's but would probly require some serious mods to work on the gxp.

the tranny on the gxp is the same on the gtp, gxp has even more hp and torque though so the life expectancy is shorter. its stupid.
