• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Supercharger - So let me get this straight...

yes, but the k&n is overpriced and gives poor performance. Any cone filter slapped onto your intake pipe will sound like that...if you want to save your money, you can make your own, or if you want a good performing intake for a good price, check out TDC fender-well intakes.

the roots style blowers have a whine to them. like said any open cone filter set up will bring this sound out. the stock air intake is designed to keep it quite.

Will the TDC keep it quite or allow it to be loud like this?

yup, if you get any aftermarket intake, wizaired, tdc, k&n, msp, thrasher, a fenderwell or shortram made yourself, its gonna have that whine

smaller pullies = more whine. you should hear my car with a 3.2 with the slits closed up. beasty.

I was on my cell phone windows up and got on the freeway and the person on the other end of the phone heard my SC whine. Of course I had the radio on. I just made my own intake. But im going to do the FWI just as soon as I get my tires...grrr

o and the whine is the best when your passing someone on the right side (the car is to your left side where the intake is at) at wot. its like it echos off the other car :D

they are built in noise reducers. sealing them makes the blower louder. not really at WOT, but part throttle it is a lot louder.

yeah, i might have to do this when i really start modding. i think im gonna get a ported and polished s/c housing from brian at gbp. then i might think about closin up the holes.

the best intake if all you want to hear is whine is just shoving a cone filter on the throttle body or the MAF if you have an 04+.
