Supercharger noise

I'm pretty new the world of superchargers and need a little info. I have a 1998 GTP and when I crank it up when it's still cold I get a fairly loud rattling noise from the air cleaner. I have a cold air intake without the box and you can hear it through the air cleaner. As it warms up the noise quiets down considerably but you can still hear it. I have read where this might be the coupler wearing out. Does anyone have any experience with this. I am a mechanic as changing the couple would not be a big deal, I just wanted to know if this is common so I can tear into and change it. Thanks!

One other thought. I have checked the s/c oil and it the level is fine.

Where to get the coupler.

ZZPerformance - Supercharger Coupler #ZZ-SCCPLR,

I used to know where some vids on changing it was but basically just suck out the SC fluid. Disconnect Batt. Remove Belt. Remove all the bolts from the snout to the case. Separate. Replace black coupler with green coupler. Repeat previous steps. Replace fluid with new SC fluid from GM. 1hr job tops.

For options on purchase, but as with ^^^ likely the coupler. search bar at the top, "Coupler" and you should get pages, google replacement and you should be able to find a "how-to". Very easy.

Only recomendation is USE GLOVES!!! I cannot stress this enough. If you have a female companion and want to touch her for the next couple day, use gloves. The SC fluid will soak in and hellfire and brimstone won't get out that smell.
