• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

SuperCharger Noise

Could be.

Could be the needle bearings in the case.

WORST CASE SCENARIO...you need a new coupler/fluids/gasket/blower case.

Which now you can get a GenIII M90 pretty cheap from a local junkyard or something.

Thank you all very much. I will see if the rattling stops with the belt off. And if it doesn't i will replace the coupler (already found videos on how to) hopefully this will solve my problem. Thank you again.

when you take the belt off, do the snapping of the pulley test to see if the coupler is worn out. if so likely thats the noise, but then start it up, no belt on.

if the coupler passed its test, and the noise goes away with no belt on and running, its something else in the sc.

if you still get the noise with the belt off, its your engine.

you can post vids here too, they help out a ton.

My winter 97.5 regal did this.

Rattle went away as you reved it up a couple hundred rpm.

My Solution: raise idle with tuner +200 then sell after winter

Sound was gone ;)

probably the needle bearings inside the case. i had the same problem, i bought a brand new snout from eaton and a brand new ZZP coupler and still made the noise. i mean the only other thing it could be is the rotor pack (whatever you wanna call it) if its not the needle bearings. did all this before i knew any better or else i would have just bought a GenV or would have contacted reptile. i solved this by finding a cheap supercharger and just used the case and rotors and got lucky and problem solved.
