so i just noticed my car leans towards the passenger side like an 800 lbs gorilla is sitting on there... im pretty sure its my pass rear thats the problem just judging by wheel gap (or lack there of). is it the spring? or strut? or strut mount? just curious, ill eventually pull the tire and check it but wanted to know what normally causes this, im thinking broken spring or strut mount. i hear zero noises over bumps and the suspension is smooth.

your struts are blown out and your springs are worn. id suggest replacing both and doing all new mounts and what not. a fresh suspension always feels great.

Yeah sounds like your spring may have broken. Its surprising but I've seen this quite a bit. Just rusts through and breaks.

I agree that new springs and struts will make your car feel anew. Might as well lower it while your at it.

belle tire looked at it while i got new tires and he said the spring is just worn and sagging. will have to get springs and struts sometime. would definitely love to lower it. any suggestions on parts?

read my lowering thread and decide from there..

hrm i may just keep it stock height after reading that. as a daily driver family car i need my parts to last as long as possible. plus i live on a dirt road so lowering may be a bad idea.

any vendors have the hookup on stock replacement struts and springs?

WTF they lied at belle tire. There is no way he looked at it. i know this because somehow the spring is not even in the strut!! it popped out some how and part of the coil is rubbing on the tire! i was changing the rear brakes and about sh!t a brick when i saw it. It looks to me like i can just rent a spring compressor and put it back in? no idea how this happened.

That's crazy. Put the spring back in and see if the height comes back. If not rear springs from an old intrigue raise the rear back to normal.

well i talked to a guy who works at oreillys (used to work at a repair shop), i asked him how the spring can just pop out and he said its because it broke. he went out and confirmed that it broke. so he said i need a whole new assembly since the strut is shot anyway. he said it will just fall back out again, is that true? i cant really afford new struts right now.

looks like i can get 4 brand new complete struts for $380 shipped from rock auto (after monroe rebate). my guy at oreillys said he will match the price if i bring him a printout. i need them now so it would be nice to just pick them up for the same price.
