Sunroof

this is the only thing over the sunroof and the fabric was glued to it and the old sunroof but gap in between both and I'm on my phone and tapa talk app and maybe this way will work

so all that clean looking metal is part of the sunroof install right? if so my god man.....

i see the insert they have for the sunroof. looks like they just cut the stock one and laid that thing in as trim.

maybe you can glue it to the head liner and you said it was screwed up right? maybe use tree clips to hold it all up there? looks to be lots of metal bracketing that could be used for that.
 
The grey you see beside the original headliner,the screwed it up there and cut all around it,in my opinion it was half a$$ed,I would of raised hell if I saw that being done to my brand new car,the date says may 21 97 on the sunroof,I'll fix it the right way,looks like they cut the crossmember and bolted it to what was left,I've never seen so much of a mess and ducktape,I'm gonna cut cardboard to fit the gaps and double stack it and tape it in.
 
I found a pamplet from that time for the dealer ship for the grand prixs and the sunroof was 1500-2000 installed looks like for that price youd get some better work,I'll get a video so you can see it all,I'm going to town to get some stuff to start fixing it
 
Wow my dealer installed sunroof in my 97 was done way better than that. The only bad thing is they used window urethane to seal it to the car so I just left it in the car.

looks like it time to make your own head liner, fill as you see fit then re cover the whole deal.


you get it working right yet since the head liner is off?
 
I'm screwed the plastic part around the thing that basically spins to make it slide in and out is broke,I'm pissed for sure now,it tries to push it out passed the room,I'd give anything to find a parts car with a working asc sunroof,I can't find any info nor parts for these things,if I knew that asc parts are hard to find I would not have bought the car
 


It's also a custom place,may end up just buying a new one,this one is rusted out and I'd say worn out,I wish they could make the hole bigger and put a factory in,do you know of any other gm vehicles that have glass like mine,I'm gonna post in the wanted section and give that a shot
