Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Sunroof Won't Close '98 GTP

Yesterday I went out to move my car for the first time in a few weeks. I started it and opened the sunroof, all the way to let out some heat. When I had finished unloading it I tried to close the sunroof and nothing happened. When I push the switch there is a click coming from the roof. The click is on the front part of the sunroof on the drivers side. It seems to be coming from a black box in the headliner next to the motor.

I pulled the trim ring and switch down and can't see anything wrong at first glance. I've looked around on here and didn't find anything about this exact problem. I've checked the fuse already, any help would be great, let me know please.

Thank god this happened during the summer!

I'm reviving an old post to see what you did to fix this issue. I have just now run into the same EXACT issue with my sunroof!

I haven't fixed it yet. I pulled out the glass and cleaned and lubricated the tracks, to no avail. I'm pretty sure it's the motor but the sunroof moves a little when I hit the switch but it doesn't move really. Let me know if you find a fix.

Mine decided to work 2 days later on another random attempt to close it. I am pretty sure it is the motor also. I'll add it to the list of automotive "to do's" if I can find parts for it. Since I am just north of you in Spokane, Im sure you know how hard it is to get parts for these Pontiacs! Ironically enough, the sunroof has been the only major problem on this car in 112,000+ miles.
