sunroof vanity cover is sticking

I noticed the other day when I went to pull the vanity cover back on the roof to then open the sunroof it was getting stuck on something, if I wank on it really hard it opens but it seems like it is getting stuck on something, I looked but couldn't see anything.

Anyone else experience this problem?

It's on a 2001 Grand Prix GTP coupe
