sunroof issue kinda

I tried searching for this and couldn't find any threads on it. my sunroof shade thingy or whatever it it's called is stuck and no matter how much force i put on it the stupid thing doesn't wanna pull forward. it's as if the previous owner pushed it back to far or something. anyone else experience this problem? Also is it common for the sunroof to open slowly? car is a 99' gtp if that makes a difference

Open slowly...I dunno how slow is slow. I've got quite a bit of sunroof knowledge from fixing mine. Being as its stuck the best thing to do would be to start taking the inside ceiling partially down so u can see back in there. You'll need to take off the pillars and sun visors as well as the pillars that the seat belts go on. It ain't hard just time consuming

O and take a video of how slow it opens

i can take a video of it sometime today just gotta brush the car off and hope it's not frozen shut. do the pillars just have clips and aside from the sunroof itself is that shade on a track the could be causing problems?

I'm just getting insight on the problem to see if anyone has experienced similar issues and how they fixed it. as for the slow opening roof i'd rather just address the issue while i can probably do that monday when it is back in the 40's

Mines gotten stuck too far back a few times, it took a lot of force and wiggling around but I got the shade closed.

I have the same problem. You ever fix it? If so how?

i did fix the cover being stuck by yanking the crap out of it until it closed then i lubed up the rails it slid on to help it slide easier but it does take a little bit of force to get it closed still.
