Sunglasses

3 pairs. currently i wear aviators from rayban. also have the squarewire's from oakley and oakleys w/ blue lense and plastic frame. all $140 +

im thinking about buying the oakley plaintiff's this spring/summer. i love sunglasses.

the only pair of my sunglasses that has not been scratched to hell or broken are the ones i leave in my car and NEVER take out of it. they are my driving glasses. just some aviators (from nixon, i believe) that i bought at a pac sun.

Jimmy Johnson "signed" #48 sunglasses...

free

i work at a grocery store and one day the managers were cleaning out the attic type area and there was a whole box of sunglasses (cheap, crap, less than $5) they just handed them out...i think they were part of an advertisement and not all of them got given away...hahaha, score one, havnt had a problem...they look sweet, fit me right, if you see me in the car as i drive bye, they look just like $200+ sunglasses...epic win cheap crap, i have 3 pairs of them hahahaha

I found cheap or expensive, they break the same.

I never shed a tear over a broken pair of $5 sun glasses.:th_winking:

Yeah but takes a hell of a lot more to break titanium frames. My Juliets fell off my friends head at 70mph on the highway. Not a scratch on the frames. Replaced the lenses and good as new.

but the point stands...those lenses cost more than $5

When you spend alot on a pair of glasses, you take care of them. When you have the cheap $5 pair, you don't care if they get broke so you don't take care of them. Mine are always in my case if they aren't on my head.

^I agree.

Those that CAN'T EVER take care of anything are probably smart by not dropping the cash on a nice pair.

As I said before, I like, and prefer quality sunglasses. Oakley, yes you kinda pay for the name, but there is actually science behind their lenses.

YouTube - Oakley Impact Protection Test

The impact test at 1:19 in the video, that is a VERY crude machine if you have ever seen it. They had it on display at a Vegas Bicycle Trade Show we attended and were showing demo's using that machine. Brutal.

My old eye jackets I retired from racing, I popped out the lenses, and gave them to a buddy on our team who's an optometrist and he made me some clear lenses. I used those glasses as safety glasses. Last time I used them was when I was working on my car at my parents house installing my GMPP strut and spring combo and I laid them down, and never saw them again.

i had a really nice pair of costa del mars... 200 bucks.. left them on the roof of my car one day pumping gas.. theyre now gone.. i have a cheap 20 dollar pair now.

I <3 my costa del mars, I think I got the amber tint and at first I thought I should have got the blue or dark tint but these ambers tints really are great for driving. When I worked at cabela's I got 20% below wholesale which was about $90 shipped. :D
