Sunfire vs Solstice

I was getting gas one night which was at the corner of a red light. I looked towards the light because I heard exhaust. There was a nice looking black solstice with rims. I hurried up and got on the road just as the light turned. I followed him down the hill. At the bottom theres a light with two lanes. I got beside him and he saw me eye up his car. Both lanes turn to the left, I was in the most left lane. Light turned green and I left him. I think he got mad, because we went down a one lane and he was riding on me. I'd hit it and leave him again and again. I was impressed when he got the solstice sideways around a turn though. Wasn't a very fair fight at the light, but was fun.

it wasn't a redline because that's Saturn and wasn't a GXP. From what I could tell it just had big rims and muffler/exhaust. Sunfire just has visual mods. She won't let me do anything to it.

The Solstice ended up following me home and driving passed. I kinda want he'd stop so I could check out his car, or if he was mad to say something then I'd tell him to let my pull MY superchargered GP.

Im not sure I can buy this. Unless it was the 2.4 manual and he just couldn't drive to save his life, granny shifted to kick it sideways in one attempt as you said.

The 2.4Ls were the bigger engine w/manu-matic & manual tranny option, otherwise it was a 2.0 turbo and even with a bad driver, Im sorry but it would walk a stock 2.2L sunfire with more weight in ext mods.

I've driven 2 different solstices, the 2.4L manumatic and a 2.4L 5spd, neither were very slow. The Ecotec 2.0L Turbo is even faster than the 2.4Ls. Compared to the cavaliers Ive dogged on, the solstice is much, MUCH faster.

Again, could have been a 5-spd and the guy just got it and never drove a 5-spd before and thought I can take this little sunfire. A driver can make a world of difference in a race.

from what I could tell it was the 2.4 with manual. This is our 2nd 2.2 ecotec, I love these motors and I don't think they get the credit they're due.

yes at the ligtht it wasn't really fair seening I was on the inside lane and he probably held back a little seeing it was a turn and he's rwd. The way I see it he's only got 20 hp on the sunfire. The 2.4 0-60 is 6.8 (thats the fastest a professional got the car) and the sunfire is mid 7s I think (its auto so no matte who throws it to the floor it'll be the same, minus wheel hop.)

They weight almost the same, 100lbs less for the sunfire but with the ext mods and wheels Id say your at the same now if a little over. Thusly why I said he has to be a really bad driver or the flag is a waving

Shelf...you have to figure gearing too...N/A Solstice/Sky's have dog crap gearing...Sunfire/Cavy's are pretty closely geared...my woman had an '05...it was faster than my Cobalt...and all it had was a custom made intake.

Granted... but the solstice, point for point, is just a hair bit slower 0-60, 1/4, circuit than the new miata, which is substantially faster than my 01 6spd miata ls and I owned multiple neons/cavis and until we grabbed 3rd I was with a srt-4... beat him once of like 10 times because he missed the shift to 3rd. Bottom line I know how slow they are vs a better class roadster.

Like i said I call BS unless it was a ****TY driver in the solstice, at which anyone that can't drive will be beaten by someone that can, even in a "slower" car

I've seen some sunflowers boogie down the road in my day, however I think both lose because of the slowstice driver not getting a GXP and OP not modding the performance of the car due to the woman.
