sun roof leaking

Hi All,
My sunroof has a persistant leak and don't know where it's coming from. Water is leaking down though the courtesy light/sunroof control panel in the roof, and i'm worried that if i don't find it soon , I'll have a short on my hands. The seal around the roof panel is in good shape, so i'm stumped as to why it would leak. And yes, the roof panel draws down tight when closing. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. ( 2000 Grand prix GT )

Thanks in advance,

John Paul

I had water coming in in the same place you mentioned. I have an 04 with the antenna between the windshield and sunroof. It's seal went bad on the antenna somehow, I just took it apart and put some silicon under it and tightened it down. Hasn't leaked ever since.

Im not sure for the 2000 but i know for the 2004+ there known to leak from the ON-star antenna that gogtp was talking about.

lol had this happen on my buddys 98 2 door u need to open the sunroof and if u have a air compressor blow out the drain tubes they are in each corners in the front ones they get clogged up with junk you can also check it to see if they work open the front doors and the drains are in the front of the door jam if u put small amounts of water in the sunroof track u can watch it drain out its open but if it doesnt drain out u need to blow em out it should drain really good

Thank you all for your quick replies and suggestions, much appreciated. As mentioned above, i was always wondering what those black tubes were sticking out of the forward door jambs, had no idea those were drain hoses. Going to blow those out this evening. Thanks again guys for all your help, hope this solves my problem.
Cheers for now,
John Paul
